94-year old woman runs half marathon

Last month, 94-year old Harriette Thompson ran the Rock ‘n Roll San Diego marathon, making her the oldest woman to finish a half marathon. And, she ran a 17-minute mile! Two years ago, at 92, Ms. Thompson became the oldest woman to complete a full marathon.

Ms. Thompson, who has fought two successful battles with cancer, began running at 76. About her half marathon she says: “Only thirteen miles seemed like a piece of cake compared to a marathon.”  What’s the secret? She keeps exercising. Watch her here:
